I recently had the unfortunate experience of hiring Spartan Van Lines located in Clearwater, FL, for my moving needs, and I must say that my experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share my review in order to caution others who may be considering their services.

One of the most concerning aspects of my experience with Spartan Van Lines was their policy of requiring payment upfront before unloading the truck. This seemed unreasonable and even unprofessional. It left me feeling vulnerable, as it effectively held my items hostage until I paid in full, without any assurance of the quality of service I was about to receive.

Furthermore, Spartan Van Lines provided an estimate for the duration of the move. However, when the actual time turned out to be shorter than what was estimated, they refused to reimburse any portion of the payment. This lack of flexibility and fairness left me feeling cheated and dissatisfied with their business practices.

Additionally, I was taken aback by the exorbitant fees they charged for credit card payments. It seemed like an unnecessary and unfair burden to impose such a high percentage for utilizing a commonly used payment method. This added cost seems like an attempt to take advantage of customers and left me questioning their integrity.

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Spartan Van Lines to anyone in need of moving services. Their requirement of upfront payment, failure to reimburse for time discrepancies, and high credit card fees all contribute to a lack of professionalism and customer care. Moving is already a stressful and costly process, and choosing a moving company that values transparency, fairness, and customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.

I strongly advise exploring alternative moving companies in the Clearwater, FL area that prioritize customer service and uphold reasonable business practices.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $829

We had a great moving experience with Spartan Van Lines. Our moving team consisted of two people, Tony and Jason, and they were very professional and quick. They were super respectful of our stuff and packed things very well. They followed us to our new home and then quickly unloaded all of our things. They really took a lot of extra time to make sure we were happy with things in the right places and just overall went the extra mile. It was a super hot day and they just kept working cheerfully. We were super appreciative of their great efforts and would highly recommend their service to anyone else- hands down. We've moved around the world and back and have experienced many movers in many countries. This was by far our easiest, friendliest, and least stressful move ever! Thanks so much.

Service cost: $500

Terrible company. They quoted me one price and then charged me 300-400 more than I was quoted. They only accepted cash after they arrived because they kept saying their credit card machine went down that day. One worker made the other do all of the work. We had packed all of our boxes so we were ready for them when they arrived. They tried to unload everything into garage because they were lazy. Gave them cash but they did not give me back change or a receipt. Avoid this place.

Service cost: $840

We are moving from Tampa to Cape Haze, Fl. I was contacted by Hanno from Spartan Van Lines. He seemed to have our well-being and satisfaction as a top priority. He was friendly, knowledgeable, understanding of our situation and willing to accommodate our moving needs. The prices he quoted were very competitive and my wife and I both felt that he could be trusted.

Long story short.. we did not use Spartan but.. when we told Hanno that we were going with another company his professionalism did not wane. He exhibited the same friendly nature and wished us well. He asked that we contact him if our plans changed.

If Spartan lives up to his standards, they are top notch.

My response from a BBB complaint I made.

You are telling lies about you all moving my whole house. I had my family members telling me to take pictures of the house after they only moved the large item. it was in shambles, So your workers are telling you a lie. And if my husband was completely satisfied with you all why he didn't tip your workers, He said they were really good men but their work ethics were horrible, I am still moving out the place so how did they move my entire house. As far as the move taking that long your sorry workers was standing around. trying to figure out how to get my sofa in the door for 45 minutes.. which I had to call another company to get it into the living room, Also they left the sofa that belongs in the living room in the back bedroom. You all are so horrible I wouldn't tell anyone to use you all. Have some INTEGRITY..
if I Owed $416.00 you would have to take me to the highest of the high courts to get it. Your company didn't deserve $282.00 that's why that's all you got. I will never use such a made up company like you people EVER again, My husband was only trying to be nice to your guys when he let them come into our home to rest and get dry and also gave them towels to dry off and gave them something to drink.
As for as the stress free move more lies the entire time I was at work I received several calls from my husband telling me how slow your movers were moving he really felt some kind of way because they were so slow. Trying to run the bill up. And as far as my budget I didn't have a budget, Did you see the area I live in I couldn't live there on any restricted budget sir's. Bottom Line this was one of the worse experience I have ever had with a moving company. Good Luck in the furfure and people please read reviews before using these kind of companies. And Thank you!

We had just recently sold our home and was on a time line for getting out and finding new location. Had done online thing where submit from-to and email then several places would call and submit bids via of phone and email. Hanno was first to contact and was very friendly and helpful. Told him didn't have a definite date but he went ahead and treated us as if we did. Then Katie started following up with us and was also very friendly and helpful never pressured but just reassuring that when we were ready they would be there. About a week ago she called on a Monday morning and I told her we was still waiting for a place to open up. That evening we got a call with the go ahead. I called her back and told her she said when do you all want to move we said as soon as possible. She said I will call you right back and she did and said how about in the morning. We said that will be great. Katie said will have the truck there at 9:00am with two guys. Sure enough at 9:00am truck and two of the nicest, hardest working.friendy and professional guys we have ever meet Tony and Carlton came and got started immediately and on time, 35 minutes later the truck was loaded and we were on our way to Brooksville about 50 miles away to our new home and in another hour and 45 minutes they were done and on the there way to Best experience we have ever had with a moving company. Can't say enough good things about the crew at Spartan Van Lines Clearwater FL. There was no hidden extra fees our furniture and belongings were treated just like they was there's and we were made to feel like family, actually better than family, family would have been complaining. All I can say is if you don't use Spartan Van Lines Clearwater FL for your next move you will be wishing you had they are honest and the best no surprises. Thanks again everyone Greg.

We made the move from Clearwater to Palm Harbor on 12/7/19. I was in constant contact with Nancy and she made sure that the move was as stress free as possible.
The two guys arrived right on time and got right to work on accessing the items to be moved and began loading the truck immediately. They were loaded and ready to proceed to the new place in about an 1 1/2, which to me was amazing. They arrived at the new place and immediately got to work unloading the truck. Let me tell you these two guys were phenomenal!! I felt they made my move stress free from the standpoint of taking care of our furnishing to NOT complaining at all about having to move everything up 3 flights of stairs and got it all done within the time that I was told would probably take. NO overcharging and no slacking on getting things done and our move was completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a local move.
Our two movers took great care with our furnishing and I tipped them very well for an AMAZING job!

My wife Debbie and I hired Spartan to move us from Tampa to Spring Hill Florida.

The two men that showed up were extremely professional and efficient and were even polite enough to ask before using our restroom, which was completely unexpected.

They wrapped all the furniture in blankets and made sure that all of our belongings were secure within the truck for transport.

Upon arrival in Spring Hill they made sure that everything was placed in it's proper location and didn't complain if they were asked to move it again.

I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone else interested in hiring a company for moving purposes.

Not only does Spartan provide prompt and professional service, but they give the personal care that is essential when dealing with your entire household and personal property. I can't say enough about how important it is to use a company like Spartan instead of going with "the other guys". The key is communication, there is no way this company provided anything but the best service and I wrote this review because I read the other ones and feel I need to give my input so people can know that this is a business that goes the extra mile and doesn't deserve a bad review. When you hire Spartan all you have to do is let them know your needs and they will take care of you just like they took care of me. I had a simple local move and Jay handled my unique situation with the utmost courtesy and care. Thanks guys! Hire Spartan and see the difference between a big national impersonal company and a dedicated local professional company that actually cares.
